Most of gallery O's hand-crafted tropical hardwood products are lovingly crafted by Belizean artisans at the family-owned and operated woodshop of Orange Gallery & Gifts in the western Cayo District of Belize, Central America, with additional outlets in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.

In 1976, an expatriate "gringo" husband-and-wife team of farmer/artisans moved to Belize from the U.S. to raise their children in a unique and unspoiled natural environment. For the first few years, they lived a simple agrarian life "back-a-bush," raising their crops and babies, remotely developing their arts-and-crafts market with the British Army and a then barely-recognizable budding tourism industry. Later moving to the Western highway, the couple expanded their talents to create miniature masterpieces in black coral and tropical hardwoods. As the family and developing markets grew, New Hope Trading Company (1979) produced crystal-and-mahogany window ornaments and the signature, world-famous, "clam chair," eventually giving birth to "Orange Gallery & Gifts" in Belize, proprietor Julian Sherrard -- and "gallery O" of Naples, Florida,
proprietor Vanessa (Sherrard) Ouimette.
